20th Annual Victorian Tea

By early summer each year the ladies of Colorado DBE have put their knitting needles together and their sewing machines in high gear to make a variety of lovely goods along with delicious jams, chutney's, and curds. All these hand made and home baked goods will be presented for sale at the Annual Victorian Tea and Bazaar.

Closer to the day, scones, gooseberry tarts, Maid of Honour tarts, strawberry rhubarb and apple pies along with a host of other baked goodies will fill the tables to overflowing. For several years all 300 tarts were made by Letty Clark, now one of our retired members. It is Letty's recipe that we use when we make Maids of Honour.

As the tables in the bazaar area are filled with such tempting goodies so are the plates served in the tea room. Each guest is graciously served by ladies wearing Battenburg lace aprons and toting a silver teapot. The guests are treated to a tea plate that holds a variety of sandwiches a Maid of Honour tart, a cream scone with pure delicious Devonshire Cream (the kind tourists experience when stopping for a Cream Tea in Great Britain). No wonder the guests return year after year!

Join us for our 21st Annual Victorian Tea and Bazaar.
